Things to be Thankful for

I was just thinking, that I don't dedicate as much time to say thank you to all the people I am truly thankful for and all the things I am grateful for so here is my list, have you created yours, if so, please let us know we love hearing from you all.

[1] I am thankful for my Family

I've been blessed with a very loving husband, Marc. Three brothers and a sister - who I am very close to even through we are now separated by "The large pond" otherwise known as the Atlantic Ocean and 5 hours time difference. Along with my siblings I have a large extended family that reside in London, Europe, The States and the Caribbean, family keeps you grounded and remind you that you are part of a bigger picture - they are all a true blessing and welcome to little Morgan my newest nephew.

[2] My Gifts and Talents

Hmmn, Ok, just so you know there are some things that I have no talent for, I cannot sing period - holding a tune isn't so much the problem as actually hitting a tune at all! I am thankful that I am and have always been quite athletic, first running track until my mid twenties, then becoming a yoga enthusiast, my latest sporting ventures are golf - obsessed with the game, and tennis which gives me one heck of a work out.
I've also been told that I'm a pretty good cook - I'm sure my husband is also grateful for that!

[3] My Friends

Goodness, I have truly been blessed with the many friendships in my life... some are friends in constant day to day contact, others I may only actually speak to once a year, and we pick right up without missing a beat.
They are all so unique and different it's great - so to all my friends - I truly love you all and am grateful for you allowing me to be in your life.

[4] My Work

I love what I do, really, jewelry is a wonderful world and I meet some extraordinary people, whether they are customers, designers, wholesalers or technical techies. So whilst this isn't as important as say being a nurse, it truly is wonderful when someone light's up at the prospect of receiving or to hear the response they received from giving one of our jewelry pieces to a loved one - after all that's what it's all about, marking an occasion or just saying Thank You to someone you care about or blessing yourself. So yes, I am grateful that I am in a business that creates smiles. :) It is also the reason we chose the name Jewelry To Adore - we adore what we do.
This is also one of the reasons that we are donating 10% of this years sales to the National Partnership for Women & Families as we believe in giving back.

[5] God

Lastly, but by no means least - I am Thankful to God, for with him all things are possible. He listens to my doubts, my fears and my worries and blesses me and still loves me anyway. So Thank You to God - who has a purpose for each and everyone of us!

Why Pearl Jewelry Rocks!

Maybe, it's because they aren't !! What I hear you say, well Pearls are produced by a mollusk - therefore unlike so many other precious gems there not a rock!

OK, so that may help answer some of the many questions we've been receiving about Pearls, such as - why are Tahitian Pearls blue?, - what does Cultured Pearls mean?, - what difference does pearl size make?, what is nacre? and so many more to answer these questions we would point you to our Pearl Knowledge Base (www.jewelrytoadore.com, then go to Jewelry Education) which we are building to an even more comprehensive guide over the next few weeks.

Do keep checking in and hopefully we will answer some of the questions you may have regarding pearls, if not, you know you can always drop us a line, either here or at www.jewelrytoadore.com

Is the Jewelry world struggling?

Hello, we often get asked how we are coping in these "uncertain" times.

There is no quick answer, no sentence that quickly sums up how the economic climate will change - however, we hold true to a few simple rules, that we believe should be applied even in a booming market.

We believe that we should always pay attention to our customers needs, whether it's helping them to find the perfect necklace, or by sending a gift out to a loved one - ready packaged!, by not overcharging, and by keeping our operation "simple" means we can deliver a great Jewelry at a great price and that we find keeps our customers happy and most probably why many have returned to purchase from us when they are making their next Jewelry purchase.

Read how the American Chronicle have also mentioned our mantra in a recent publication which is: "We are big enough to cope, but small enough to care!"

Don't lend Lindsay your jewelry!

Shouldn't every "girl" look fabulous in her jewels, even if you are not as famous as Miss Lindsay Lohan.

Okay, so, I don't normally get surprised by the antics of the 'Rich & Famous' but really, have you heard about the recent mishaps of Miss Lindsay Lohan, who I might add manages to first 'loose' $40,000 worth of jewelry at a photo shoot for the September cover of the UK's Elle magazine - reportedly she is not responsible for this!

Then has the misfortune to have her home broken into, but this time, the jewelry she had on 'loan' $2M worth! is missing - and the jewelers are apparently talking of suing Miss Lohan - goodness.

And, all this within a couple of months of each other.

Well, as I said I don't normally get surprised by Celebs antics, but those two incidents got me, especially as she 'lost' several thousand or was it a million or two, (I can't quite) remember worth of jewelry last year. A word in your ear, don't 'lend' Lindsay your jewelry.

But, good news is afoot, even if you haven't recently been loaned $40,000 worth of jewelry to take some rather slick pics - guess what you can at least get some really cool jewelry at great prices and get your own set of slick pics at a fraction of the price, with our wonderful collection of sterling silver jewelry which we are sure as usual you will adore! And. we'd love to see your pics too!, email us at info@jewelrytoadore.com

Hello There

We've been hinting at some wonderful news that we wanted to share with you and we would like to confirm our "Giving Back" program.

Most of us live very busy lives and take for granted many of the wonderful works that are being carried out by organizations on our behalf to make our lives at least our working lives better. One of those organizations is the National Partnership for Women & Families, a charity that has been instrumental in bringing about change for the good in the workplace.

So even if you've never heard of the National Partnership for Women & Families, you've probably benefited from one or more of the culture changing policies this organization has brought about. That's because for nearly 40 years, the National Partnership has played a critical role in enacting landmark policy including the "Pregnancy Discrimination Act" and the "Family and Medical Leave Act" which has given more than 60 million Americans job-protected leave to care for a newborn or newly adopted child, seriously ill loved one or to care for their own serious illness.

Jewelry To Adore appreciates what the national Partnership for Women do and we will be donating 5% of all profits to this charity to help them further carry out the brilliant work they continue to do. However, if you would like to donate to the charity at any time, just click here and you can donate.

Thanks for reading and see you again soon.

Slight Delay in fantastic announcement

Hello There,
We know that we were to make a rather significant announcement yesterday - however, as with these things, sometimes the wheels turn a little slower than we would like. However, we are hopeful to bring you our announcement Thursday afternoon - so again, please watch this space.

The All Day - Thru Night Look

Now I know it's not just me, so who amongst you can identify with a lifestyle busyness (even on the weekends) that means from the time we get up in the morning, until the time we "power down" for the evening we have to look as though we have a modicum of control.

I have personally had a packed day, three very different events back to back, a lunch meeting with colleagues, a graduation celebration and wrapping it all up dinner with dear friends again all with no time to change outfits in between. All this and still wanting to look "put together" without trying to hard and with a look of comfort that shows a relaxed casualness and purposefulness - so how did I do it I hear you ask! Simple, by keeping it simple.

Especially with the jewelry - on days like today, I find that wearing a silver and gemstone pendant hanging from a silver chain, moderate dangling earrings with or without gemstones a fun but not fussy ring on the right hand (and left if no wedding band is there!) and a bangle that's more like a cuff bracelet (no jingle) this piece works really hard for me because it goes with so many of my jewelry pieces and is so reasonable - the hardest working
jewelry item in my collection - totally recommended by the writer.

Ahh I wonder what tomorrow brings?

If you have seen an earlier posting, don't forget that Tuesday 19th is a wonderful announcement that I'm sure you will totally approve of. So don't forget, check back with us.
